I started Imagine because I went to a wedding once where the DJ hid behind the booth all night, mumbled the announcements, pressed play on a tired playlist and treated the whole thing like “just another Saturday.”
I remember thinking…
Surely weddings deserve better than that?
So I built the kind of wedding entertainment I’d want at my own.
Not Just Music. Momentum.
I’m what’s known as an open format DJ — which basically means I can move seamlessly between styles, decades and vibes without it feeling like musical whiplash.
Indie into 90s?
Soul into singalongs?
Classics into current?
Absolutely.
What I don’t do?
Cringe action dances.
Forced audience participation.
Or shouting over the intro of your favourite song.
(And yes, I have very strong but polite opinions about the YMCA.)
Laid-Back. But Laser-Focused.
On the surface, I’m relaxed. Approachable. Easy to work with.
Behind the scenes?
I’m watching everything.
Timing.
Energy shifts.
Who’s loving it.
Who needs nudging.
When to raise it.
When to let it breathe.
Your wedding shouldn’t feel like it’s being “run by a DJ.”
It should feel effortless.
That doesn’t happen by accident.

Usually it’s because they’ve seen:

They don’t want a human jukebox.

Someone who makes it feel easy.
And someone who, quietly, cares a ridiculous amount about getting it right.
A Bit About Me (Outside of Weddings)
I’ve been DJing for over 30 years.
I still love it. Genuinely.
I grew up on the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s — my parents’ record collection was an education in itself — and I spent the late 80s running a record shop. Which is a long way of saying: if your music taste runs deeper than the Spotify wedding playlist, mine does too.
I’m happiest when:
A dance floor clicks into gear
A couple glance at each other mid-song like “this is exactly what we hoped for”
Or the night ends with a chorus that lifts the roof.
This isn’t “just another booking” for me.
It never has been.
