That was my kind of Saturday night 😀
Tonight saw me in Oakington Pavilion for Wendy’s 60th birthday bash.
The theme was based loosely on female Rock & Roll artistes, and neither the play list for the evening or the guests disappointed.
Many of the guests were in fancy dress from the 50s, and there were some REALLY impressive costumes there.
The playlist Wendy had provided was as you’d expect from the theme mainly Rock ‘n’ Roll classics – a genre I’m more than happy to work with (I love music from that era). There was also a smattering of 60s to 80s as well just to balance things out a little bit.
As usual I started off with light background music whilst the guests arrived, got drinks and settled in. It wasn’t long before toes and fingers were tapping on the table tops and shortly afterwards the floor filled – before the end of the buffet – result!
Then on to cake cutting time, and something a little bit special.
I’d been working with Wendy’s partner Alison for the past couple of days to integrate messages from friends and relations who weren’t able to attend the party. It went down a real treat and was a complete surprise for Wendy.

The remainder of the evening saw a pretty much full dance floor for the duration with most of the music being from the Rock ‘n’ Roll era.
So – happy birthday Wendy. It was a real pleasure to entertain you and your guests this evening.
