It’s no big secret that Old Hall Ely is one of my favourite wedding venues to be asked to work in, so it was a real pleasure to provide the entertainment for Aimee & Andrew’s evening reception as the first of many 2024 weddings I’ve been booked to do.
Old Hall lends itself to my LOVE letter setup. In fact, the LOVE letters were specifically built for that particular stage. Even after several years of use, they still look the part in the gorgeous starlit marquee.
The evening portion of Aimee and David’s special day kicked off with “the big reveal” as the curtains of the dance marquee are drawn back to reveal the happy couple doing their first dance as Mr & Mrs.
As always in The Old Hall, the end of the dance was celebrated with a shot of confetti.
And onto the party....
Aimee and Andrew had provided around a dozen songs they wanted to hear during the rest of the evening, with the rest being down to my own selections and guest requests. The emphasis was to be on ’80s and ’90s music with no cheesy action dances.
That’s ALWAYS going to be a good night in my book!
A full dance floor proved that the selections were spot on – and a couple of days later I received this from Aimee & Andrew
Some photos
And the playlist....
The played list was a result of Aimee and Andrew’s own selections, those of their guests and some from me.
It seems to have jumped around a little bit, but worked on the night
