Wedding & Party DJ at The Old Hall, Ely: Julie & Todd

A Friday evening back in one of my favourite and most visited venues…The Old Hall in Ely.

This time, it was the wedding of Julie and Todd.

Why is The Old Hall one of my favourites venues? I just love the starlit marquee, the familiarity of working there (I know exactly what will work in there regarding equipment etc.), the friendliness of the staff and the idyllic settings overlooking the Cambridgeshire Fens to Ely Cathedral. OK, I don’t get to see much of the last part, but you get the idea.

Anyway, back to the wedding.

Weddings at The Old Hall follow a routine of sorts, and it’s always nice to know who’s doing what and when. It’s very rare for timings to slip too far from the planned timeline during the day and that’s one of the things I love about this venue.

So, first dance just after 8pm (Take That’s Rule The World), and we’re off and we’re off and running.

The music for the night was varied to say the least, from the party classics to some good old fashioned rock, and just a little modern R&B….all of it requested by guests, which I find makes the party work so much better on the night.

Unfortunately, I spent the entire night shivering with a good dose of Man-Flu, and I mean really shivering. It was damned hard work to get through the evening at times, but get through it I did and it turned out to be a really good night with lots of dancing, lots of cheering and lots of arms in the air….exactly what I aim to achieve.

All the best for a long and happy future together Julie and Todd.
