As far as weddings go, Leigh & Dominic’s big day at Teybrook Orchard has to be up there with one of my absolute favourites!
I was originally booked way back in 2019 for this one in a different location. And then Covid hit, and for one reason and another the venue was changed, until eventually we get to October 2021 (a year later than planned!)
Unlike last week’s wedding for Emma & Paul at Rectory Farm though…the weather didn’t play ball. In fact, it rained solidly all day.
That didn’t stop the celebrations though!
Wet Wet Wet
This was the scene which greeted me when I arrived on site at 10:30am! It’d been raining heavily the day before and the ground was already waterlogged.
More rain was forecast!
A quick unload from the van (via the muddy puddle) saw the Rustic setup in place in a gorgeous little marquee which was already decorated for the day

I was there as an all-day DJ, so first order of the day was to setup and test the ceremony system (you can actually see it in the top-right corner in the outdoor photo further up this post).
All working OK, it’s on with the background music and wait for the arrival of Leigh who I must say looked fantastic!
Celebrant ceremony done and dusted (I love watching these from the sidelines), it’s time for the official photos and for the guests to start filtering into the shelter of the marquee for a fantastic barbecue. My jobs at this point included ushering guests to get food and of course to provide the background atmosphere to the afternoon.
And then……a well kept secret appeared….ALPACAS!
These had always been in the plan for the day right from the very start, so when they were led under the shelter where Leigh and Dominic had earlier been married, guests flocked to have a stroke and grab a quick selfie. After all, it’s not every day you get a selfie with an Alpaca is it?
So, on to the evening
Right from the time Leigh and Dominic booked me, I knew they had very specific styles of music in mind for the evening. I have absolutely no problem with that and I’ll do my very best to put your ideas in order and make them work on the night.
I must confess to having a couple of minor reservations about some of the choices, but I really needn’t have worried because the selections went down an absolute storm as you can see in the gallery below.
The evening reception started as is traditional with the First Dance. Leigh had wanted a multicoloured confetti shower during the First Dance, and who am I to disappoint with THREE cannons going off at the same time!
The rest of the evening was made up mainly of Leigh and Dominic’s own selections with a few well chosen requests from their guests to keep the party going. All in all, a full dance floor for pretty much the entire evening!
