Wedding DJ at Witchford Village Hall: Emma & James

This weekend’s event was the wedding reception of Emma and James in my local village hall.

I’ve known both Emma and James for years (James grew up in the house next door to mine), so it was a real privilege to entertain at their special day for them and their guests.

Because the disco included the acrylic LOVE letters, it was all set up and ready in the reception venue before the wedding breakfast and left in the colours of their theme for the afternoon. Microphones were provided for those all important speeches and then it was time to start the party.

Emma and James were both more than a little nervous of taking part in the traditional first dance, so we decided to let them dance to around a minute of their selected song (Glowing by D.A) before setting off a confetti cannon to indicate to their guests to join them on the dance floor. It’s a fantastic effect and always works well, as well as creating some magical photo opportunities which can be looked back on for years to come.

The evening itself contained a mix of mainly music from the 60’s to the 80’s (all guest choices), and finished on an hour of 90’s club tracks and modern R&B.

This was a really good night from my side of the booth, and it’s always good to see people enjoying the dancing at a wedding reception after what can be a really long day.
